Here's a video of a Caine x Jenny son that his new owner sent me. Very nice little male!

November 14, 2008

My female Jenny von der Langerts SchH1 has come into heat and will be bred to my male Sunshadow's Caine SchH1. This is a repeat breeding that produced lots of drive and great looks and the feedback from those puppy buyers has been very good. If you are interested in getting on board this litter early, please contact me. It can be viewed on the For Sale page by clicking here.

I have a new SchH3 male coming from Germany that is a Melano vom Cap Arkona son, Nick Heiligenbosch grandson with lines returning to Half Ruhbachtal, Timmy von der bosen Nachbarschaft, Fero vom zeuterner Himmelreich, Orlie vom Korbelbach, Greif zum Lahntal, Fiasko von Gebrüder Grimm, Lord Gleisdreieck, Jeff vom Flamings-Sand, and Ingo Rudigen! Very strong pedigree. When I get all his info I will get him listed. In the meantime, here's a picture of him:

Congratulations to my good friend Dan Cox and his male Chuck vom Dorneburger Bach SchH3, AD, HOT for winning the 2008 USA National Championship with 99-90-98=287V!!!!

I am extremely proud of Dan and all his hard work. I have been able to see Dan come up from a new guy that knew absolutely nothing but had all the dedication, drive, and willingness to learn, to now an accomplished dog handler and trainer with a Nationals win! Dan is a real Cinderella story of a down to earth really nice guy that works hard and never gives up on his desire to be the best. It's nice to see the good guy come in first. Super job, Dan and Chuck!!!

Dan is surrounded by people that helped him succeed. Dan has a great helper in Jason Wiggins and they have devoted many hours of hard work toward this goal. Dan's lovely wife Emily supports Dan 100% and lets him spend those hours away from home working with Chuck. She even comes to his trials with their beautiful little girl to cheer him on!

GO DAN AND CHUCK!!!! Congratulations my friend! Dan Cox and Chuck vom Dorneburger Bach 2008 USA National Champions!!!! On to the 2009 WUSV in Germany!!!!

This is a picture of a young Caine son who trains for ringsport. This is a male from the breeding with Sunshadow's Caine SchH1 and Borina Animals SchH3, IPO3, SVV2.

November 7, 2008

This is a male from my breeding with Stuka x Aja. He's got really nice looks and super intensity. I'm having a lot of fun with him.

November 5, 2008

Here's a picture my friend Rudiger sent to me from us at the 2008 WUSV. Rudiger is on the left, then me, then Jogi. Jogi handles the very impressive Eric vom Sportpark SchH3, IPO3, BSP in Germany. He showed very strong this year and in 2007 took second place at the BSP. Very nice dog in the work.

November 4, 2008

Here's a picture of me with my good friend from Canada, Darryl Haringsma at the 2008 WUSV. Darryl showed Caine's brother at the 2008 WUSV in Kentucky. Darryl's dog Talon took the sleeve off the helper on the escape grip and the stadium went crazy. Darryl was a WUSV competitor before with Caine's father, Bure vom Norbreeze SchH3, FH, Kkl2, WUSV.

Congratulations on the strong showing my friend. You and Talon work very hard and deserve the success!

November 2, 2008

I have updated the pictures from the 2008 Bundessiegerprüfung in Germany. They are on the same page as the 2006 photos. They can be viewed here.

Here's a picture of me while I was in Germany working with Ike von der Mohnwiese SchH3, FH, Kkl2, BSP. I had the pleasure of watching Ike as a protection phase demo dog during the 2006 BSP in Bochum-Wattenscheid and really liked the dog, so getting to actually work him two years later was a real treat.

Regina und Peter, hier ist es! Ike ist auf meinem HP meinen Freunden!

I was also lucky enough to get to talk with Werner Hübner at the Bundessiegerprüfung in 2008 about Asko. It was very nice to see this man's eyes light up when he spoke of his old friend. It was nice to hear about the dog from the person that knew him best.

I have the information on the Jim Beam Talka Marda puppy as well as new videos of the young pups for sale. I am currently working on getting them finished and will post them soon. Additionally, I will have a Rottweiler puppy available from a good friend. His male is exceptional quality, SchH3, and has competed and done very well. More to come!

October 15, 2008

I may have a Jim Beam Talka Marda son available newly arrived from Germany. I'll be listing info as soon as I have it all.

WUSV

The WUSV was a lot of fun. The event as a whole ran very smoothly and I heard many good things from the competitors and spectators. The venue was very nice and it was super to see the USA pull off a great event. Stuka was used as a helper tryout dog, and boy did he have fun. After every out, he'd wait a few moments and then regrip the sleeve. What a punk. :)

It was great to see many friends from all over the world. Sometimes these are people you can only talk to or email and see once a year or so, so when you can get together at the same time it's like a big extended family reunion.

I was a tracklayer for the event and so unfortunately I didn't get to see much in the stadium. However, here are some of my highlights:

*My friend Daryl Haringsma from Canada handled a brother to my Sunshadow's Caine. The dog is Talon vom Adler Tal. On the escape grip Talon took the sleeve off the helper and the crowd went wild! Talon was so proud of himself and Daryl couldn't have smiled any bigger. Darryl's a great guy who trains very hard and I was proud of him.

*The tracking and bitework from Javir vom Talka Marda. I saw this dog just a few weeks ago at the Bundessigerprufung in Baunatal. He is a really nice dog with good power.

*All the conversations with the handlers before their tracks and getting to see so many nice tracking dogs. I laid a 99 point track for Wallace Payne's old dog Merlin Conneforde. "Pedro" did a super nice track for his new handler from Korea. Also, Crazy Charlie and Aceofnike van het Bleekhof. Crazy Charlie took High Tracking with 99 points. And some inside info here.....the field this track was laid in was truly the second worst field of the event. Sometimes tracking is luck of the draw and we don't have choices where the tracks go down. But if you've got a good tracking dog, it doesn't matter, Nike railed it. There was a dog from Italy in this same field that did a 97 and was one of the slowest, most methodical tracking dogs I've ever seen, Franco v.d. Wilden Nachbarschaft. The dog from Finland, Diwareus Chac, is a track I laid and was in the number one-worst condition field. This dog walked an article or he would have had a perfect 100 point track at the WUSV. It was a very nice tracking dog.

*I'd also like to congratulate the helper's, Lotus Perkins and Shane Garrehy, for the always safe-correct-and powerful work. Lotus is retiring from helper work after this at events and those will be big shoes to fill. He is a tremendous trial helper. Shane showed really safe longbites and great presence on the dogs also. Clark Niematalo and Jim Laubmeier were the alternates for the event. My hat's off to each of these gentlemen for reaching this event and doing what they do. They are all super trial helpers and many a big protection score has come off their hard work, and many a good dog trialed another day because of their safe work!

*There was much more, but too much to list here. Be sure to attend one of these events in the future!

October 6, 2008

Well I'm back from Germany and ready to watch the WUSV in Greater Cincinnati. I am a tracklayer for the event so unfortunately won't get to see much in the stadium. Hopefully we'll get some time free.

I'm gonna try and get some video of some of the Caine and Stuka puppies that went to friends and fellow club members from the last litters. They are showing really nice drive.

September 13, 2008

Ich mochte zum Bundessiegerprufung gehen! Ein Bier bitte! Und macht schnell! :)

September 8, 2008

Puppies from the Caine and Stuka litters have begun going to their new homes. I wish everyone the best of luck with these incredible little puppies. There were some very good dogs in there!

The other night, an organization I'm a member of hosted Indianapolis's Oktoberfest. We had a very successful event with thousands and thousands of people. A friend and I took our dogs down there and let people meet them. It was really nice to see so many people have such a respect for German Shepherd Dogs. Our dogs couldn't walk 10 feet without someone wanting a picture or to let their children pet the dog. All those people and all the noise of the celebration and our dogs walked through heads high and tails wagging, true ambassadors for the GSD. It was great for the event. Here's a picture of me at Oktoberfest with a male from my breeding program:

September 2, 2008

In two weeks, I will be in Germany at the Bundessiegerprüfung with friends! Can't wait.

Here is a video of the Stuka pups at just turned 6 weeks of age.

August 24, 2008

Between the baby, the puppies, and the Regionals coming up I have been extremely busy. We've been going to Tom Huelsman's club to get some field time for my friends who are competing. Stay the weekend and then head on home.

I leave for Germany soon also. I'm going over to the Bundessiegerprufung again and to look at some dogs. Cannot wait to see good friends and once again sit in the stands of the BSP with a beer in hand watching the best Germany has to offer!

New puppy videos, just taken today.

August 18, 2008

I haven't had time for the videos and will try and finish them soon. The puppies are all doing very well.

The trip to Greater Cincinnatti Schutzhund Club went very well as always and we had a lot of fun.

August 16, 2008

The new Facilities page is up and can always be accessed off the menu bar on the left of my website. It has pictures of my kennel building and my schutzhund field. Enjoy!

I have made puppy videos, but probably won't have time to get them up until Sunday night. We're leaving today to get some practice on the Mideast Regionals field. I'm not showing Stuka because he just came off some ear injuries (two hematoma's) but I am planning on trying out for helper tryouts. Some friends who are showing are going down with me for the weekend for some training and fun.

August 13, 2008

You guys should see the drive coming out of my breeding with Jenny and Caine. They are 5 weeks old right now. Every time I go in the kennel they are all biting my socks, shoes, anything they can. They are showing very good nerves and are very vocal when they want something. I go in to put their food in the pan and they just start biting me all over. When they bite they try and get as much in their mouth as they can and then start humping back and pulling. I'm gonna get a video of it.

We'll see what they keep turning into, but as of right now I am very happy with them.

August 9, 2008

I'm currently creating new videos of the puppies from both litters. Here's the Caine x Jenny at 5 weeks. I had them out today on the grass with me and two dog training friends. These puppies are showing unbelievable drive for their age. They all want to bite on everything, and they bite hard and naturally hump back. They are doing very well.

Caine x Jenny puppies, about 5 weeks old

I got the Stuka x Cheyenne puppies out today also. They all look very nice. Lots of growling and fighting going on when they are in the whelping box. Today was their first day out on the grass. They are already eating cottage cheese, and continuing to nurse off of Cheyenne. She carried a ball into the box and there were at least two puppies that started rolling it around and trying to bite it....at less than 3 weeks of age. Unbelievable.

Stuka x Cheyenne puppies, almost 3 weeks old

August 5, 2008

I'm gonna hold back a male from the Stuka x Cedra breeding. The linebreeding on Brawnson's dad is just too promising not to. We got a second tie this evening.

August 3, 2008

Stuka has been stud to a Czech ZVV1 female. This female was bred to my Caine once before and produced very nice puppies. The breeding with Stuka produces a linebreeding on Arko Honest, who is the father of the legendary Stormfront's Brawnson! This could be very nice. Puppies will be papered under my Sportwaffen kennel name. More to come.....

August 2, 2008

Stuka x Cheyenne puppies at just shy of two weeks old. They are doing very well and Cheyenne is being a wonderful mother. These puppies will be some serious sport prospects!

Here's a short video of Caine x Jenny puppies just before turning 4 weeks old. They got their first real trip outside onto the grass and have been started on cottage cheese. The color is very nice and the heads are like Rottweilers.

July 30, 2008

Check out this picture sent by a good friend of mine, Lorna Thomas. She has a beautiful male from my kennel named Atze. They go to Colorado a few times a year and go hiking. They always take him because he is part of their family. Look at this picture.....this is everything I hope for when I send a puppy to a new home. He has a great life.

The Atz man!!
Atze has a very rough life!

July 29, 2008

I only have 1-2 puppies left from each of my 08' litters available. None have gone to homes yet mind you, or even been assigned or picked. But these litters had a lot of interest because of their quality. At least one is going to Germany to a BSP competitor! That speaks volumes.

The bite table for my protection field is all done. A lot of people complain about bite tables and say they are not needed. They receive bad press because of the way that some people used them in the past. However, with the way that Mike and I use them, we have had a lot of success because we work them in a way that is only positive and success driven. Our dogs pull to them, jump up on them wagging their tails and start barking for the fun to begin. A table, when used properly by someone knowing what to do, is a tool like any other tool we have in our training bags.

July 24, 2008

I have been very busy in the yard finishing the rest of my privacy fence and the fence entering my training field. I also re-installed permanent blinds on my Schutzhund field. The blinds I had before were damaged in a big storm and I wanted nicer ones put back up. Now they match my privacy fence. I made them plenty big for a helper to comfortably stand in without the dog seeing someone is in there. I also placed a tie out chain in front of the 6 blind so a dog can be backtied and sent straight into the 6 blind for barking. It's just the right distance so the dog can pin the helper in the blind without the ability to reach him, and as soon as the barking is correct the dog can be given a grip. The tie out chain is also on a pole that fits down into a pole set in concrete, so when not in use it can be lifted out and there is nothing above ground level to trip a dog or handler up on.

July 21, 2008

Cheyenne has delivered her puppies!! I have 4 boys and 3 girls, all are healthy and doing well. More to come soon!

July 20, 2008

I have been busy busy around the kennel and house. I'm working on finishing the privacy fence up to the training field and tomorrow I'll put up my new blinds (a storm wiped the others out) and a few bite tables for table work during protection off of the 6 blind.

A few days ago I moved Cheyenne into her whelping kennel. She's such a great female. The puppies from her and Stuka should be amazing. Jenny is doing very well with her litter. The heads on these guys are like Rottweilers. Will be beautiful dogs. When these litters are done, my breeding is done for 2008 and we can all rest again. haha

Emma is doing wonderful. She is just beautiful.

Last night at 11:18pm my lovely wife delivered our first child. I am now the proud daddy of a beautiful little girl with strawberry blonde hair. Emma Beth Harves weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and is 18.5" long.
I am such a blessed man in so many ways. I'm gonna spoil this little girl with a Daddy that loves her very much.

July 7, 2008

Jenny is doing a fantastic job with her very first litter. She is very protective of the puppies and makes sure they are well fed and kept clean.

July 4, 2008

Jenny just finished delivering her litter of 5 boys and 2 girls. They are all eating and healthy and she's doing a great job. Reservations can now be accepted on this tremendous power-bred litter! Puppies will be priced at $1200.

June 24, 2008

Stuka competed at the 2008 HOT and received a 90-84-88=262! OG Buckeye put on a great event and we had a blast.

Both Jenny and Cheyenne are confirmed pregnant. I listed the litter informations on the For Sale page.

June 7, 2008

The puppies have been tattoo'ed and are ready to go to their new homes. I spent extra time with them today.

June 6, 2008

I have returned from a training trip to New York. I went and spent a week training with friends from Europe that came to compete at Carlos Rojas's Master's Tournament. I wish all the competitor's the best of luck and applaud Carlos for what he is doing.

May 28, 2008

Here's a video of the puppies at 6 weeks of age. Enjoy!

May 22, 2008

The puppies are being exposed to more environmental exposure and controlled stresses. For example, they are having to walk farther to their food, or have to navigate small courses around obstacles to stay with me. They are all doing very well at it. I've got them going up and down stairs on their own at 6 weeks of age. When they make it up the stairs they get encouragement and/or food. As of yesterday, several of the ears on these puppies are already coming up.

May 21, 2008

My female SG Cheyenne vom Severusbrunnen SchH3, Kkl1 has been bred to my incredible male, SG1 Stuka vom Enckhausen SchH3, IPO3, FH, Kkl1, HOT. This litter will combine Asko von der Lutter, Fero vom Zeuterner Himmelreich, Timmy von der bosen Nachbarschaft, Troll von der bosen Nachbarschaft, Yoschy Dollenwiese, Greif vom Herkulesblick, as well as the motherline blood that produced Eros and Ellute Mohnwiese!

Wanna see the kind of dogs Stuka is producing? Visit his webpage and look at the bottom at the video of his 11 month old son Bello von den Sportwaffen who just prelim'd OFA Excellent!!

May 15, 2008

Here's a video of the puppies taken today before work. The puppies are really doing well and starting to show more personality. They are adorable. Enjoy!

May 13, 2008

The puppies are doing very well and eating solid food with cottage cheese and puppy gold. Very good food drive out of these guys, very energetic and playful. They are getting lots of socialization from my wife and I and respond very nicely to human contact. I'll try and get some video of them soon, they are up and moving around a lot more. I'm also gonna start introducing them to the rag in the next days and a little more exposure to environmental stimulations.

One puppy in this litter is going to be a Police Dog. I've had my eye on him from early on, he is quite full of himself and pretty dominant over the other puppies. He's going to a department in northern Indiana.

May 8, 2008

Currently I am breeding my powerhouse female Jenny to my powerhouse male Caine. This is some unbelievable hardness and power going into this breeding. Puppies will be linebred on Troll, Fero, and Askia Froschgraben. This breeding will produce amazing dogs with hardness and aggression as well as superb conformation and headpieces.

May 6, 2008

Here's a video of the puppies eating some solid food out on the lawn. You can see the color and the bone are very nice. At one point they stopped eating and were sniffing the fresh cut grass around them. They have excellent noses and are always investigating new smells. I see this a lot in Olina puppies, as a tracker Olina is unbelievable. Very methodical and just a bloodhound in the tracking work. I think this is the early signs of that genetic behavior in her puppies.

These puppies are already starting to just wander off and explore by themselves. Very confident.

May 4, 2008

I'm working on Stuka right now trying to work on some issues and fine tune some things. The next trial we have our eyes on is the upcoming HOT trial in June. I'm very proud of the fact that Stuka is a HOT dog. You are able to look at the finished product and know that all the good, and all the bad, came from you. It gives you a great base of knowledge about training ideas that worked or didn't work so well and allows you to refine your training methods. Stuka is an unbelievable animal and I sure have enjoyed him being a part of my life.

April 30, 2008

The puppies have been started on some food in addition to mothers milk. They are eating a mixture of softened kibble, cottage cheese, and Puppy Gold. The food drive is very good in these guys, they empty the pan and then head for momma also. They are active in the whelping box and are showing good response to human contact now.

Training wise, I've started my little female Emmi on puppy scent pads for tracking some time ago and she continues to do really well. I will advance her this week into straight lines and get her moving forward. Her ragwork shows me all I need to see and I'm going easy on it because she's teething. I just let her place what pressure she likes and it helps the process. When she went to club she was very interested in what was going on and was very open and social. I'm still very excited at her and what she is becoming.

April 27, 2008

Olina and the puppies are doing very well. These are some of the biggest puppies I think I've ever had. They have very nice head and bone. The color is very nice, the black sables will be very dark. They are at the age where the personalities are starting to show more each day. There are a few that are really full of themselves!

April 21, 2008

Olina delivered puppies on April 9, 2008. She has given me 4 girls and 2 boys. This litter will be very interesting because I bred her to both of my males and will perform the Dual Stud DNA program through the AKC. Once the puppies are tattooed for permanent identification they will be DNA swabbed and entered into the program. The DNA is on file for all the parents so they will then perform the test and determine which male produced which puppy. Very exciting!

There is a solid black male and one black sable male. One female is a medium sable and the remaining females are black sables. As always, Olina is doing a wonderful job making sure they are fed plenty and well cared for. She is an excellent mother.
