Asko von der Lutter
SchH3, IPO3, FH, Kkl1

These are some pictures of Stuka's grandfather, Asko von der Lutter SchH3, IPO3, FH1, Kkl1. Asko was the 1st place winner at the 1998 Bundessiegerprufung, the 2000 FCI, and the 2000 WUSV! He was 2nd place at the 1999 BSP and WUSV. In 1998 he took fourth place at the WUSV. Asko is an absolutely incredible dog that has produced more top level sport dogs in the world than any other living stud today. At the 2006 Bundessiegerprufung in Bochum-Wattenscheid I saw approximately 15-20 sons/daughters and grandsons/granddaughters out of this single stud out of a total field of 126 dogs! Asko was an amazing competition dog, and an incredible producer. He was an absolute living legend of our time, and a pillar of the modern day working line German Shepherd.

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of the legendary Asko von der Lutter. He is among the special place reserved for only the truly great ones.

I was lucky enough to get to talk with Werner Hübner at the Bundessiegerprüfung in 2008 about Asko. It was very nice to see this man's eyes light up when he spoke of his old friend. It was nice to hear about the dog from the person that knew him best.

Me and Werner Hubner, Asko's handler
